Month of October!

Grade 6GG:
I will have your class for PDCP only, now. Mr. Blanchet will be taking over your health class, on Monday mornings- be sure to check his Blog, as well.
We are working on Personal Crests for the next couple of weeks.
There are three steps to this:
Draft #1: fill in words on work sheet to represent each category.
Draft #2: draw or bring in pictures from magazines or photos to represent above words, trace Crest. (remember, effort not artistic ability!)
Final Copy: create large crest on 1/2 sheet bristol board, photos, color pictures go on this copy.
I will give students plenty of time to work on this in class;
due date: beginning of class, OCTOBER 18th

Grade 6/7 PG, Grade 8H:
Students started working on their World Wellness Project this week. It is a PIG assignment, so students may choose to work on it with a
Partner,
Individually or in a small
Group of 3-4.
Each project will be wide open for students to choose....they need to raise AWARENESS or MONEY for a cause in their community, or in other parts of the world. Ex. Raise money for UNICEF through a toy sale; raise donations for the GM Food Bank by having boxes in classrooms; raise awareness for AIDS Orphans in Africa via powerpoint.
The emphasis on this project will be the process, more so than the end product...a student will not fail simply because they did not raise very much money. We will have three worksheets that will guide students through the process, and evaluation will be done on an individual basis, regardless of PIG choice.

(unfortunately, our class is once a week, on Mondays, so we miss a lot of days due to Holidays)
